Our Story


Köhlerstüble is a family-run business with a long tradition.


In 1915, my great-grandmother Berta Köhler founded the original Köhler as a wine tavern. In the 1930s it became popular with the «catchers» performing in the former Stadthalle across the street (today the site of the SWR).


Shortly before the end of World War II, the building was destroyed. Berta and my grandmother Hermine Köhler rebuilt it step by step.


In 1980, my parents Christa and Manfred took over the hotel-restaurant and successfully ran it for many years.


Since 2018, we – Dani and Andreas – have been running the family business in the fourth generation.


Since 2023, our restaurant has been fully vegan.


Andreas is our «vegan butcher» and prepares our handmade specialties with great passion.

I take care of the kitchen, organization, and administration.


Our two dogs Woody and Rocky warmly welcome our guests and help create a cozy living-room atmosphere. ❤️
